About us

About TS4

Our mission is to help people live enjoyable, low carbon lifestyles by creating sustainable homes tailored to their specific needs.

Combining decades of design expertise, hands on building experience and a passion for sustainability, we create genuinely energy efficient homes that are loved by our clients.

Our story

TS4 was founded in 2009, a time when most people had a very different perception of what a sustainable home could look like. We wanted to show people that with the right design, you could have both sustainability and style; both energy efficiency and comfort. And most of all, we wanted to show people that a green, architecturally designed house didn’t have to cost a premium.

We have since dedicated our work to producing sustainable, carbon sensitive designs that save you money on heating, cooling and electricity, while paying homage to the intangible poetics of space and light.

Australia’s first designed and built Zero Carbon Home

In 2013 we created Australia’s first designed and built Zero Carbon Home. The home is set to become 100% carbon neutral by 2045 – meaning all carbon generated through creating materials, transportation and construction will have been offset by the energy exported from the home to the grid.

Our approach

At TS4, we believe the right home will enable you to live a life by your design. To create such a home, we design with a hands-on, iterative approach that ensures the outcome is everything you hoped for and more. This requires more time than an off-the-plan build, but for our clients the wait is always worth it.

“We must seek ways of living, working and being that enable all people of the world to lead healthy, fufilling, and economically secure lives without destroying the environment and without endangering the future welfare of people and the planet.”

Our Team

Paul Hendy

B.Arch, M.Arch

Paul’s design and construction background began in industrial design. He worked for a major London-based architectural company during the 80s and 90s, in which his work frequently blended with architecture and was used in projects such as Heathrow Airport.

After emigrating to Australia, Paul completed a Master of Architecture degree in 2008, graduating with 6 awards including the Architects Board of South Australia Travel Award and Boral’s Construction Award.

Paul is highly passionate about improving the efficiency and sustainability of new and existing buildings, all while maintaining design creativity and originality. His purpose is to create inspiring spaces and a suitable environment for future generations.

When he’s not busy creating clients’ dream homes, Paul lectures in sustainable design at the University of South Australia – helping to create a link between the profession and the next generation of architects.

Sustainable design is a world unto itself, and we want to show our clients what’s possible. We’ll help you understand what makes your house functional, comfortable and sustainable, so that you can be involved in the process.

Satisfaction

We might only be working with you for 12 months, but you could be with your house for 20 years. That’s why we make sure the end result is everything you want – and more.
